It was overwhelming to witness the joy of some of the beneficiaries who have regained their vision after leading their life for years in darkness. During the program the Staff of Katsina Eye Centre were also acknowledged for their relentless work to aid people to regain vision.

Eye Screening Camp at Jabi Motor Park for Commercial Motorists in Abuja on October 10th

In Abuja in partnership with Danjuma Atta Eye Foundation and Federal Road Safety Corp TCF organised a screening camp at Jabi Motor Park on October 10th for Commercial Motorist to identify vision problem, suggest remedies and direct Motorists to one of the TCF’s Eye Centres – Katsina, Kebbi and Calabar – for the free Cataract Surgeries, if needed. Free Eye Glasses were also distributed to the Commercial Motorists during the Screening Camp. Over 160 commercial Motorists were screened. One of the beneficiaries during the screening camp suggested that such “camps should be organised regularly. It would help to reduce the number of road accidents in Nigeria”.

Eye Screening Camp at Bagudu, Local Government Area, Kebbi State

In Kebbi State at Bagudu Local Government Area, with the support of Col. M. Bello Kaliel (Rtd.) the Kebbi Eye Centre team conducted an Eye screening camp. A total of 240 people were screened on a single day and 92 of them have been identified for Cataract Surgeries. The Cataract Surgeries of the 92 patients from Bagudu local government will be undertaken from the week starting 4th November, 2013 at Bernin Kebbi Eye Centre.
