Launch of Owerri Eye Programme, Imo State

Owerri Eye Centre is dedicated as the cataract surgical centre of Ministry of Health, Women Affairs and Social Development in partnership with the Tulsi Chanrai Foundation. The Owerri eye center has now been moved to the Imo Foundation Center from the earlier Specialist Hospital location.


Launch of G. K. Chanrai Memorial Hospital, Zaria, Kaduna state

Kewalram Nigeria Plc has constructed the G.K.Chanrai Memorial Hospital in the premises of Sunseed Industries at Zaria, Kaduna State with the objective of providing health care services to the workers and their families and the communities in the immediate neighborhood.


Priceless Gift of Vision

First City Monument Bank is partnering with Tulsi Chanrai Foundation to present disadvantaged and remote Nigerian people “Priceless Gift of Vision” between November, 2013 and January 2014.

Under the Priceless Gift of Vision program FCMB is sponsoring conduct of three eye screening camps and a total of 600 Eye Surgeries in Kebbi, Katsina and Calabar.

TCF has already conducted the camps for screening patients by trained para-medical staff in the communities and at the Eye centre after a full ophthalmic and medical examination by the specialised Eye Surgeon patients fit for Eye Surgeries are being operated. Operated patients are kept under observation for 24 hours.

Post the Eye Surgeries patients are being called back to the respective Eye centres for the 15th and 30th Day review.    

FCMB and TCF is undertaking Priceless Gift of Vision program in Nigeria since 2009. Several thousand people in remote areas of Nigeria have been benefited from the program.



World Sight Day 2014

  • World sight day celebration was organized at the Katsina Eye center on 09 Oct 14. The event was witnessed by Rep of His Royal Highness, Emir of Katsina, many dignitaries from Katsina state government and even some local press along with the many patients who have been treated in the past.
  • The show went off extremely well with video testimonials from a few patients from our center.
  • His Royal highness, Emir of Katsina has appreciated and commended TCF for providing eye care to the poorest people of Katsina state and elsewhere in the country for so many years in partnership with the local state governments. To commemorate our extraordinary job on the eve of World Sight Day, he has given us a generous donation of N 250,000.

Besides ensuring life saving drugs at all times through its wide distribution network, WWCVL also encourages its employees to generously donate to TCF. Donations made by WWCVL employees every year is utilised by TCF to undertake Eye Surgeries, Mother and Childcare and Water programs to benefit the disadvantaged and remote Nigerian population.
